I highly recommend Over the Moon. It’s a heartfelt story about a girl named Fei Fei who grieves her mother’s passing and is upset that her dad plans on remarrying. Inspired by stories her mom would tell her about a Moon Goddess named Chang’e, who represents eternal devotion, Fei Fei devises a plan to build a rocket to the moon to prove that Chang’e is real. This film was created by Pearl Studio, and was co-directed by two of Disney’s most famous veterans, Glen Keane and John Kahrs. The film is dedicated to its writer, Audrey Wells, who passed away in 2018. The movie contains many powerful scenes of sincere and severe grief. The visuals are incredible. On the Moon, everything is surreal, vibrantly colored and self-illuminating. To be expected from a movie with Glen Keane and John Kahrs’ name on it, the animation and character performance are impeccable.
